Faulty patio door
Anderson admitted there was a manufacturing problem with the vinyl clad separating on doors made in the 1995-**** period. I replaced a problem door 8 years ago with a spare I had in my basement made in this period. This door has also failed and I called Anderson. I was told it was out of warranty and they would do nothing. I spent 10's of thousands of dollars to replace an entire home including 5 large bay windows. Anderson should be ashamed of itself not replacing this one door knowing there was a manufacturing problem. This is a huge company and can afford to stand behind it's products. I have sold real estate in the Bloomfield Hills, MI for 32 years and will pass on my Anderson experience for those thinking of window replacement.

French Door that doesn't open correctly!
We ordered three sets of Andersen French doors. Two of the sets arrived with damage to the door panels. Four of the six panels were replaced. After that one of our doors has never opened correctly. It drags, and we have to shove it very hard to get it to open. Of course it's the door we use all of the time. It has been adjusted a number of times by authorized Andersen warranty companies, but it never stays adjusted for more than a few weeks. Andersen's latest is to offer us new hinges and ANOTHER new panel, but we have the honor of paying $400 to have them installed. EVERYONE WHO COMES TO OUR HOME AND USES THAT DOOR IS TOLD IT'S MADE BY ANDERSEN! We entertain a lot, so we're getting some satisfaction letting people know about our horrible experience!

Warranty issue
Some of my windows have seal failure. This was determined by a licensed home inspector. After speaking with more than 6 people from their service department, hours on the phone and in hold, numerous pictures which I had to email 4 times, they concluded that my windows...

Poor quality, expensive and poor customer service
Purchase sliding french doors from Andersen several years ago. Installed them into to my kitchen 1 month ago, Door initially locked, however over the coarse of 1 month the lock did not line up. My contractor came back to address the problem and found the door bowed. Called Andersen they explained that it does happen and requested the number from the door which I did not have during the first conversation. After providing the number Andersen stated that the inside was not finished and therefore voided the warranty. This of course was not explained at the time of purchase.Anderson now wants to hide behind the small print. the door was likely warped at the time of manufacture. the majority of the door is glass it must be of poor design and construction, it by not finishing the interior wood it was cause the door to be completely ruined. The door cost over two thousand dollars. Byer beware. Avoid this Company and the substandard products

New Andersen bay window is poorly assembled
Just purchased the Andersen 400 series bay window with double hung windows on side; they are still being installed. We noticed that at the base of the center bay window were 2 half moons of insulation that squished upward from the base that can be seen very easily from the inside. Andersen refuses to consider this a defect as it is only seen from the inside; the side that the customer has to view everyday. Friends have asked what it was as it is so obvious. This is poor craftsmanship, poor quality control and a poor response from the company. In addition, the screens that come with the double hung side windows do not slide up and down as do the windows; instead they are snapped into a closed position. I will never use this company again. Hopefully new customers get to read all the reviews; I made the mistake of not reading them beforehand.

I will never buy another Window or Door From Anderson Windows
I have been trying to reach Anderson over a cracked part on my glass slide and I have been unable to reach anyone for 2 days. I tried again today and got the operator. She was unable to reach anyone either. She took down my name and number and promised a call back ASAP and I have yet to ear from anyone. Right now the door is damaged and because you can't get parts for the door. I now looks like I will have to get a whole new door. Prior to this event, the handle of the door broke and thankfully I was able to find the right size screws with some looking.

Paid 2500.for patio door after 3 times for depot to get it right
had the door installed by one of their contractors who was qualified to do the job,he showed me where the hinge adjustors were,i tried adjusting the door hinge and it actually popped the metal thru the hinge plate, now these so-called experts want to charge me 250.00 to replace the bad parts, corporate america teaches their employee's to act stupid and make as much money pushing their junk product, just say no to andersen products...why do i have to put in 100 words?is this to discourage people from writing in complaints? i guess you people are in cahoots with andersen company, this country is only about money and not consumer protection.

Andersen Windows Problem
I had Andersen Windows installed throughout my house by the local licensed Andersen dealer, Argonaut windows. They advised on the style, size, which way it opened etc. I didn't have much of an opinion on all that. Within a few months after installation the cranks started breaking. Basically I had windows that were too big and heavy for the cranks to handle. I've called and complained to Andersen numerous times. Andersen has given me replacement cranks, but I'm just tired of replacing them myself. I'm not an installer and I had to damage some of the woodwork to get them in. They spec'd this all wrong. They either need a crank that doesn't break or to not let their installers put in bigger windows than their cranks can handle.

The operative words is "may", as in "may replace". If it said "will replace", then you would have a guarantee worth something.

been using AW products as well as their competition for years. In the instructions it states that door needs to be finished.
on interior doors manufactures require all 6 sides be finished to be covered under warranty. If raw wood surfaces are left unfinished moisture will penetrate and wood will warp!
if it is one of their French doors shut and fully lock the door and leave it locked for a couple of weeks it may take the bow out, then finish the surface immediately. good practice with any multi lock doors when closing always engage the locks fully because it helps keep the door true and not bow
Different problem. Acknowledged by rep.
Their solution was to paint.
Once I paint that will certainly void any claim. Buyer beware
