- - After 30 years with Anderson, I will never buy again; a $5k patio door with shades broke and required a $400 service call, so I don't recommend.
I have used Anderson windows for 30 years. I will Never.
Buy another one. We had a patio door with the internal shades installed in February, on the 25th, 2026. It was a 5k$ door- which of course included the install. I was hesitant to buy a patio door with the shades on the inside, because what happens when they break?
They have a good warranty. So I bought it. On March 26th, was raising up the shade with the slider and it broke. Not only broke the slider, but the track it was on is also coming off.
I called the warranty number, was on the phone with them for 45 minutes /. They accessed my phone, they had me take measurements, they had me go inside and outside to see the door. The part is covered. However to have a technician come out to evaluate the door..
Four HUNDRED dollars. I said no. And I will no longer buy Anderson.
Nor will I recommend Anderson. If you are looking for a patio door, do not buy the one with the shades on the inside.
Preferred solution: My patio door fixed under warranty. As it should be.
User's recommendation: Do not buy
Complaint
- - Scheduled for 2pm, rescheduled to 4pm by Anderson/Renewell.
- - They couldn't find me in the log; 30 minutes to cancel the 4pm; they called to verify.
Called and scheduled appointment for 2pm. Anderson/Renewell call to reschedule for a 4pm appointment.
Checked with my wife and that time was not good for us. Contacted Anderson/Renewell back and they couldn't even find me on their appointment log. Spent 30 minutes trying to cancel the 4pm appointment being transferred several times.
After I finally got the appointment canceled they called me back several times to verify or try to reschedule. Not a company that I will be doing business with in the future.
User's recommendation: Watch who you do business with.
Horrible, overpriced products sold as premium.
- - Rattling screens, leaky seals, squeaking window cranks.
- - Warranty expired a few months after 1 year; upgraded 200 and 400 series hardware.
Rattling screens, leaky window seals, squeaking window cranks, jammed blinds in patio doors, gaps in door seals that mice can crawl through. Just a few months past 1 year warranty.
What a clown organization. This is 200 and 400 series upgraded hardware.
User's recommendation: Avoid
Payments
- - Windows and installers were fine.
- - Payments go through a POS company; questions aren't answered.
- - A debit card is required, giving access to your bank.
Windows are fine. Guys that installed them were fine.
The company that they use to send payments to is a POS.
They refuse to answer any questions or let you make payments from your bank account. They make you use a debit card so they have access to your bank account, so they can steal money from you if they want to!
- Windows are good installers are good
- Company they use to get payments sucks
Preferred solution: Price reduction
User's recommendation: Power pay sucks

- - Sought estimate for 39 windows.
- - Anderson Renewal showed little interest in home visits.
- - We chose another company with a lifetime guarantee.
I tried to get an estimate for the replacement of 39 windows. Anderson Renewal barely had an interest in coming to our home.
The kept e-mailing with requests for measurements and continuous questions about current windows and what we expected. When asking Anderson why all the bother before they came out? Couldn't they find out info needed from an onsite estimate. They said they needed to budget for the total job.
We eventually told them that we had enough estimates and if they couldn't give us one we weren't interested. We chose another company that sold the windows and did the installation with life time guarantee and accidental breakage replacement.
Anderson service is terrible!!! So happy we chose someone else!!!

Verified ReviewerWindows Leak through Sills
- - 200 series windows leak; water damage; warranty claim goes to attorney.
- - Three types of toxic mold behind walls affecting our chronically ill son.
The 200 series windows are defective and leak through the sills, causing water damage and mold to grow within the wall cavity of our home. We had 3 types of toxic black mold growing behind the walls of our home.
Now, we have a chronically ill son due to mold exposure.
Andersen won't talk to us about the warranty claim because our son is sick. They tell us we just have to speak to their attorney.
- Leak and damage entire home
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified ReviewerAndersen 100 Series Windows
- - Extreme temp swings with Andersen 100 windows; rooms 60F in cold, 80F in heat.
- - Escalated with Andersen; no specs testing; plan to replace all windows.
As I expected, no response from Andersen Window Co. regarding my complaint. This is typical of their commitment to customer service.
With outside temperatures below 25, some rooms were 60 degrees. In summer with outside temperatures over 90, some rooms were 80 degrees. The thermostat remains set at 70 degrees. After a thorough investigation with an infrared temperature gun and thermometers, the windows turned out to be the source of the problem.
We contacted the builder, and they found no issues with the installation and told us they have installed these windows in other houses with no prior complaints. After numerous calls to Andersen customer service, my case was escalated to a supervisor who reluctantly agreed to send a representative out to inspect the windows. He only performed a visual inspection of the inside and outside of the windows and said he found no problem. No tests were done to see if the windows met manufacturing specifications.
The representative also stated that this was the best I could expect out of Andersen 100 series windows. These windows are manufactured with Low-E glass, are Argon gas-filled, and are Energy Star Certified. Is this normal performance for an Andersen 100-series window, or are my windows defective? Does Andersen really market and sell windows that are this low quality for a new construction home?
There's an undeniable problem, but Andersen is not willing to acknowledge the possibility of the windows being at fault. To make matters worse, they refuse to work with customers to reach a resolution to the problem.
We are left with one option: replace all the windows in a 9-month-old house. You can be sure the replacement windows will not be Andersen.
- Cheap builder grade windows
- Complete waste of money
- Poor customer service
- Poor quality
Preferred solution: Full refund

Verified Reviewer |Andersen Series 100 Window Failure
- - Three Andersen Series 100 windows have sash cracks and glazing beads fallen off; a field rep refused to fix, despite the limited lifetime guarantee.
Had Andersen Series 100 windows (recommended for high heat areas) installed in my new home. Three of the windows now have extensive cracks on the sashes, and the glazing beads have fallen off.
I have contacted Andersen numerous times. They sent out a field rep and refused to take care of the problem.
The cracks pictured below are just a very few (20-30) of them, and they are continuing to get worse, as Andersen pretty much said, 'Too bad.' Come on, Andersen, make this right! So much for the limited lifetime guarantee.
- Do not stand behind their craftsmanship or limited warranty
Preferred solution: Would like windows replaced at their cost. Trimmed out, painting and stucco repair.

Contractor for you is bad representation. And I need help!
- - Ordered 12 windows and a patio door; 9 were wrong.
- - The Oct delivery was wrong.
- - Installers came from Fargo; management didn't follow up.
We ordered windows fro Western Products out of Bismarck ND over a year ago maybe even about to be two years. They are the absolutely worst and you may want to reconsider using them.
We ordered 12 windows and a patio door. 9 out of the 12 are the wrong windows. The last one they came in Oct and again had the wrong window. Im not happy with the windows at all.
They arent what I ordered. They are slow as ever and one end doesnt know what the other is doing so none take responsibility. Been told manager would contact me twice and have never heard from them the entire time. Installers came from Fargo and thats where management is.
The installers I have no complaints Everything else I do, we still owe half the window cost and unless they drop that I want all the windows changed that are wrong. Ive never seen such a mess in my life. You need to do some checking on Western Products out of Fargo ND and Bismarck ND. I sure expect some type of compensation or all the right windows put in.
The job is never going to be complete at this rate.
Waiting as long as we have is ridiculous. I hope to hear from you soon.
User's recommendation: Don’t use western products for sure!

Verified ReviewerFrustration!
- - One window was installed incorrectly and doesn't match.
- - Patio door is hard to use; WD-40 was suggested.
I recently contracted for all new doors and windows. A might expensive but I thought Andersen would provide top shelf customer service and a good quality product.
JOKE! The front of my house received one wrong window and they put it in!~It matches nothing.
Worse than that, I can't use my patio door without busting a gut. The installer shrugged and told me to use WD-40!
I have called and waited on hold until blue in the face. My "Team" is nowhere to be found.
No sales rep, no project manager, none of the things I was told to expect by theses professionals have happened. I could just cry!~
User's recommendation: Don't believe them!

- - Installers were subcontractors, not Anderson staff; one said he was new to Anderson, 2 men took 10 days for 15 windows with work not done correctly.
They claim the installers are their own as per the commercials and they have been with Anderson for years. NOT so.
I had windows installed and the installer came and told me he was new to Anderson and this was his first job. He was a subcontractor! Anderson sent two men to install 15 windows and said they would be done in 2 days! Impossible!
I got Anderson to send another inexperienced sub and it took 10 days and I had to watch every window install as they were not installing them correctly.
I'm a retired contractor. I would never recommend Anderson replacement windows Ever!
Huge mistake!
- - They sent the wrong window; replacements were wrong, delaying move-in.
- - Final window is wrong size and leaks in rain; I won't use this company again.
Went with Anderson windows for our new build and what a mistake! They sent us a wrong window and it took 8 weeks to get a replacement, only to get the wrong window AGAIN!!
Five weeks later, we once again recieve another wrong size window. They are now telling us that they cant do the window in the original size we ordered. This has held us up on our move in date by months. Talk about a nightmare!!
You cant really tell by the picture but the window they sent is too small and when we get a hard rain, water pours inside our BRAND NEW HOME. I will never go with this company again.
User's recommendation: Don’t buy your windows here!
Pissed off
New door showed up damaged. Replacement has not arrived
Deliver a new door thats not damaged *** you *** you *** you *** you *** you *** you *** you *** you *** you *** you *** you *** you *** you.
Poor quality and service
- - The door won't stay in and fails to keep bugs out.
- - They labeled the job too small and suggested Home Depot.
- - Two years later, still no response.
I contacted Renewal by Anderson a few years ago to purchase a new screen door and was told the job is too small and that I should buy something at home depot. My contractor purchased an Anderson screen door for me and installed it.
When the weather started getting warmer, I tried opening the screen and it promptly came out in several places. My contractor fixed it, but it wouldn't stay in. He contacted Anderson and was told they need photos, which he sent. Two years later and they still haven't responded to him (he tried a few times to reach them) and the screen is getting worse.
It doesn't keep the flies or mosquitoes out because it won't stay in. Poor quality and Anderson won't stand by their product.
I will never purchase anything from them again! They're the worst and now I have to spend more money to buy another screen door.
User's recommendation: No matter how good your contractor, don't buy an Anderson product because they don't stand by them.

- - They canceled the last install and arrived hours late.
- - The window is damaged.
- - Corporate and the salesman did not return my calls after a few attempts.
If I could give a negative point rating I would. They are finally here after canceling last install hours after it shouldve been completed.
Theyre finally here to install and the window is damaged!!! Ive never had so much trouble getting a call back from a company before.
It took 2 calls to corporate before they returned call and salesman has never returned a call! And I called him 3 times!
