Poor service, collection agency

They installed a door that interfered with existing shutters and said they couldn’t do anything about it; re-installed shutters poorly; door wrong color; sold my acct to collection agency while we were still negotiating about problems.

I have made 30 to 40 phone calls to Anderson about my one year screen door that consistently falls apart , I’m always transferred to senior technician ( one in particular is Mark ) . I have had no luck , they only want to send me another screen .

I’m up to my fourth screen . Sadly Anderson is not standing behind their product .

They are also not concerned nor care about a product that is manufactured poorly and is consistently breaking . Good luck , I’ve had none.

We have an Anderson Patio door, one year old, with supposedly a 10 year warranty on manufactured parts. The face plate on the handle fell off. We have called for a replacement and we are kept on the phone for hours, getting nothing but the run around from one person...

You can probably find the replacement parts on a place like Amazon.com which would be much cheaper than having the repairman come out to fix it. There are after-market replacement parts for these things which may also work.

Anderson Windows nowadays are not worth the money and seem to be unreliable to boot. Waiting for long periods of time for customer service is cause to never buy from that company again---and, warn friends and family.

We purchased Anderson patio doors one year ago . Immediately the screen door fell apart . Hinges came off , screen fell out and door would not close ..

Immediately the screen door fell apart . Hinges came apart , screen fell out , and door would not stay closed . I was sent an Anderson technician with a new screen door and supposedly properly installed . Same situation only one month later . It was suggested to send me a third screen door ? I made a suggestion , can we try a sliding screen door , since your hinged doors are not living up to their purpose . It took me over 10 phone calls to have the materials approved . Cost ,, way over 500.00 dollars for labor . I believe Anderson should stand up for their product and back up their product if it doesn’t meet satisfactory conditions . I don’t believe we should be responsible for a 500.00 dollar labor if the screen never worked . All Anderson hinged screen doors should be re-called . They don’t work . Very disappointed and frustrated customer . I would not be able to recommend this product , and very sorry I chose Anderson

Very disappointed

One year ago I spent 6000.00 dollars on a new patio door . The door is manufactured very well . However the screen door fell apart immediately. Was replaced 2 weeks after the door was installed . Well , same problem . Completely feel apart . I’ve decided to try a sliding screen door . Nope , I will be responsible for labor and parts . So , 5 year warranty down the drain . I believe Anderson should back up severely damaged unusable parts . Won’t buy Anderson again

Very dissatisfied

We renovated our home 12 years ago and installed 20 Anderson wash and tilt windows. In order to clean the exterior outer surface, you must press the vinyl sash in and pull the corner of the window out. Unless you are Hercules, It is impossible to depress the vinyl sash enough to get the window to swing down. I called a couple of times and the service person instructed me on how to do it. No success. Gave up until today, when we need to replace our vinyl slider. I was told to contact a rep which I did, who very “graciously” sent videos of how to get top panel down. He felt it was an installation problem and CERTAINLY not a design issue He offered to send a local contractor, at our expense, to try and fix problem. As far as I’m concerned, I’ll go to spells or Marvin, who are far more customer friendly

Forced to pay almost $2000 for gutters I did not wnat or need

I made a snap decision after a 3 hour presentation to purchase a Bay window. Everything was explained to me except the cancellation policy. I had two other window businesses look at my window and they recommended no replacement. I was one day past the window for cancelling and they had not yet ordered the window but charged me $1778 cancellation fee and encouraged me to take the gutters since I had to pay anyway. I explained to them that I was only one day late but they were steadfast in their punishment of me. They were relentless and insisted on charging me. I took financing thru their company and when working with the Supervisor Scott Basiuk (518 429-****) he would not "allow" me to use my credit card and get the points. I asked 3 times. He noted that he had done all the paperwork and we were going to do it his way. I am 70 years old and have never been told I could not use my own credit card. Very poor management skills. Very displeased with this company. Beware of them.

Poor customer service

Call Andersen Customer service about instruction not agreeing with reality of 3000 series storm door. Confusing pictures and parts lists. After 12 minutes got connected to person in the Phillipine. We could not understand each other. He promised to have a person in the USA call me back within an hour. Never happened.

I looked at the warranty on the screen doors. They could save some print if they just put in the list of what is covered. Zero things.

Horrible customer service

Ordered replacement windows for my house. Two of them had problems with finger lift on sash. Would just pop off. They apparently forgot to glue it on. Over a year later now. Replacement sashes have been delivered to homedepo four times and have been damaged by UPS every time. Now they won't send any more replacements. If home depo didn't stand by their products I would be SOL. Pella offers much better customer service. Never again will I install andersons crap.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE

This site is designed for complaints, I hope you allow for accolades as well. Andersen Windows customer service has been terrific to me. They help you find the right part if you call, but you can do a lot of ordering parts right off their website. Each time I have had a problem, they have offered to send something for free. My most recent experience with them was in June 2018. My windows are 30 years old and I have had no problems with them. We live on the coast, though, and the salt air is very rough on metal. After 30 years, I do have some parts corroding, but amazingly, they still have the parts I need, even the trim stops and handles. I would definitely by Andersen Windows again.

HARASSMENT

I have called corp. and asked them to stop e-mailing me about buying windows to no avail This has been going on for more than 2 years and they promise me it will end but it does not. I'am now getting e-mails at my work location and my employer has warned me to have it stopped or find another place of employment. I contacted corp. again today and let them know if I receive anymore e-mail from them I will get a lawyer involved. I consider this HARASSMENT since this has been going on for the length of time. I would not purchase windows from this company if they were the last one on earth. I tell everyone that I know not to deal with them because they are too pushy will hound you until you buy from them.
